تم تنظيم فعالية في مدينة قوبا بمجمع "نصب تذكاري للإبادة الجماعية"، بالتعاون بين نقابتي عمال الثقافة في منطقتي خاتشماز و قوبا، و متحف تاريخ و إثنوغرافيا خاتشماز، و ذلك بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية الـ107 لإبادة الأذربيجانيين عام 1918.

بدأت الفعالية بالوقوف دقيقة صمت تكريماً لذكرى الأبطال الذين ضحوا بأرواحهم من أجل وحدة أراضي أذربيجان. بعد ذلك، تم عرض فيلم وثائقي يعكس جرائم الإبادة الجماعية المرتكبة بحق الأذربيجانيين. و أدار الفعالية رئيس قسم البحوث العلمية، و المعارض، و الصندوق بالمجمع، لطافاة بيبوتوفا.
و في كلمتها، قدمت مديرة المجمع، الدكتورة رخشانده بايراموفا، معلومات مفصلة حول جرائم الإبادة الجماعية التي ارتُكبت ضد الأذربيجانيين في أوائل القرن العشرين، بالإضافة إلى نشاط المجمع.
كما ألقى عدد من المتحدثين كلمات، من بينهم رئيسا نقابتي عمال الثقافة في منطقتي خاتشماز و قوبا، قريب أومودوف، و مهدي حجييف، و مديرة متحف تاريخ و إثنوغرافيا خاتشماز، باكيزة مهدييفا، و الصحفي البارز أذر حسرت، و نائبة مديرة المجمع، مهريبان علييفا. و أكد المتحدثون على الدور البارز الذي يلعبه مجمع “نصب تذكاري للإبادة الجماعية” في تعريف المجتمع الدولي بوحشية الفظائع الأرمنية، مشيرين إلى أنه بعد استعادة أذربيجان لاستقلالها، أُتيحت الفرصة للكشف عن الصورة الحقيقية لتاريخ الأمة.
كما تم تسليط الضوء على الحقائق التي تم إخفاؤها أو حُظرت لفترة طويلة، و التي بدأت تظهر و احدة تلو الأخرى. و أشاروا إلى أن المرسوم الصادر عن الزعيم الراحل حيدر علييف في 26 مارس 1998 بشأن “إبادة الأذربيجانيين” قد منح هذه الأحداث تقييماً سياسياً و قانونياً، مما ساعد على تعزيز البحوث و كشف الحقيقة.
و في ختام الفعالية، تم إجراء مناقشات حول الموضوع.
