In connection with the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” and the 105th anniversary of the genocide of Azerbaijanis on March 31, an event on “Heydar Aliyev’s policy in promoting the genocides of 1918” was held in the city of Guba under the joint organization of the “Genocide Memorial Complex” and the Sumgayit Heydar Aliyev Center. The event was attended by the director and employees of Sumgayit city Heydar Aliyev Center, teachers and students of Sumgayit State Vocational Education Center in the Service Area. The participants of the event first got acquainted with the exhibition of books and photos depicting the events of the genocide. Seria Abidova, an employee of the complex, spoke about the historical importance of giving a political price to these events with the decree “On the Genocide of Azerbaijanis” signed by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev on March 26, 1998. Speaking later, the director of the Center, Vusala Gurbanova, and others informed about the unparalleled services rendered by national leader Heydar Aliyev in publicizing the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis in 1918 outside the borders of the country.
At the end of the event, a documentary film was shown.
