February 2 is National Youth Day in Azerbaijan. This remarkable day, established by the decree signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1997, reflects a high regard for Azerbaijani youth and their role in society. The state youth policy established by the national leader and still in effect today provides a strong foundation for the morally rich and patriotic education of the young generation in Azerbaijan, their comprehensive development, and active engagement in the country’s life.
Care and consideration for creative youth are one of the priorities of national programs in this sphere. For this purpose, various projects are implemented, and creative youth are supported through education abroad, and participation in international festivals and competitions.
Youth Day is traditionally celebrated each year with a variety of cultural events. From February 1st to 8th, the Ninth Voice of Youth Festival, dedicated to this special day, will be organized by the Ministry of Culture. The goal of the festival is to inspire young people to engage with the arts, discover and showcase new talent, and promote artistic activity.
Various events will be held in Baku and Ganja as part of the festival. Young artists from all artistic disciplines will be inspired by the chance to perform on the stages of the country’s biggest theaters and music halls. The Voice of Youth festival will once again bring young mugham singers, vocalists, ashigs, instrumentalists, dancers and ballet artists, and actors, together with art lovers.
