The Regulations on the Ministry of Justice were first established by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918 and November 22 is celebrated as a professional holiday for justice workers. According to the Decree of National Leader Heydar Aliyev dated November 11, 2000, this holiday is being celebrated again in all regions of the country.
On September 23, 2020, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on expanding electronic services in the field of state registration of civil status acts. The main goal of the decree is to expand the use of modern information and communication technologies in the field of state registration of civil status acts, as well as to improve activities in the field of registration of births and deaths, ensuring efficiency and accessibility. The justice authorities play an important role in protecting the rights and freedoms of our citizens, improving legislation, and serving the state and people with honor.
