По этому случаю в городе Куба также был организован День открытых дверей в Мемориальном комплексе геноцида. Посетителям, как местным, так и иностранным, сотрудники комплекса подробно рассказали об истории этого дня и о событиях 1918 года. Отметим, что Международный день музеев был учреждён по инициативе Международного совета музеев (ICOM) в 1977 году, и его цель — подчеркнуть важную роль музеев в жизни общества.
