It has been 35 years since the heroic page of the Azerbaijani people, January 20th. We honor the dear memory of the patriotic sons who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our people with respect and reverence. May Allah have mercy on all our martyrs!

The employees of the Nizami District Committee of the Azerbaijan Education Workers' Free Trade Union, as well as veterans and martyrs' families, visited the "Genocide Memorial Complex" in Quba. The visitors were provided with information about the genocides that took place on the territory of Azerbaijan in 1918. Later, a documentary film dedicated to the January 20th tragedy was screened at the Complex's museum.

A webinar on the topic "The Caucasus Region in the Political Views of National Leader Heydar Aliyev" was held. December 12 is the commemoration day of our National Leader, the great politician Heydar Aliyev, who earned an eternal position in Azerbaijan's centuries-old history through his unparalleled contributions. In connection with this, on December 5, 2024, a webinar titled "The Caucasus Region in the Political Views of National Leader Heydar Aliyev" was held at the Complex. The memory of the great leader was first honored with a one-minute silence.

The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Ramin Məmmədov, visited Guba on December 4 to meet with citizens from the districts of Guba, Khachmaz, Siyazan, Shabran, and Qusar. During his visit, the committee chairman also toured the "Genocide Memorial Complex" in the city of Guba.

A training session titled "Development of Professional Guiding Skills in the Tourism Industry" was held with the support of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and organized by the Guba Regional Tourism Department for representatives of the tourism industry. The training was conducted with the aim of promoting the development of tourism and training professional guides in the region.

In the next phase of collaboration between the “Genocide Memorial Complex” and the Quba branch of the State Archive of the Republic of Azerbaijan, staff members from the Scientific Research, Exhibition, and Fund Department of the Complex—Ulkar Zeynalova, Islam Aslanov, and Emin Ulubayov—initiated research at the Quba Archive Office on the topic “The Quba Region During the Repression Years” (1930s–1940s).

As part of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World,” another tree-planting campaign was carried out on November 14, 2024, within the territory of the Genocide Memorial Complex. Employees of the complex participating in the campaign planted around 10 climate-appropriate fruit trees.
