In 2007, a mass grave was discovered at the Guba city stadium. Subsequent investigations by a commission established by the Institute of Archaeology, Ethnography, and Anthropology of ANAS in the same year determined that the human remains found in the mass grave belonged to local civilians who were killed by Armenian dashnaks in 1918.
