Today in history: October 17, 2020 is the day when the Armenian Armed Forces fired rockets at the city of Ganja, committed the 5th terrorist act against the civilian population. / 17 October, 2021
Eleven employees of the Genocide Memorial Complex in Guba today visited the area destroyed during the terrorist attack as part of their official visit to Ganja. For the last two centuries, with the full support of regional and international forces, the notorious Armenians, who have pursued a policy of terror, aggression, genocide and ethnic cleansing against our people, have committed great tragedies in our homeland.Glorious Azerbaijan taught an aggressor a lesson in the 44-day war, who forcibly relocated Azerbaijanis from our historical lands with the support of the Soviet leadership since 1988, created terror in Nagorno-Karabakh, occupied 20% of our territory and destroyed the ecology, historical, religious and cultural monuments and all the infrastructure of our heavenly Karabakh. With the Second Karabakh War, which began on September 27, 2020, we achieved this historic victory thanks to the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the heroism of the Victorious Azerbaijani Army and the national spirit of our people.
However, during the war, the civilians of our border towns and regions – mostly women and children – were subjected to Armenian vandalism and terror. Ganja was one of the cities where terrorist acts were committed. The city of Ganja was attacked by the enemy 5 times in October on different days. On October 17, 2020, at around 2:00 am, a rocket was fired into a residential area inhabited by civilians, killing many innocent people. Immediately after this terrorist incident, our state appealed to the world countries about the terror that took place in Ganja. May God have mercy on all our heroic sons and daughters, innocent babies who rose to the peak of martyrdom in the war.
