The event was moderated by Mehriban Aliyeva, Deputy Director of the Complex. During the webinar, Associate Professor Azad Rzayev, Head of the Department of History (for Humanities Faculties) at Baku State University, stated that 108 years ago, on May 28, 1918, the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic became a significant historical event in the life of our nation.

He noted that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which aimed to build an independent, free, and democratic state, succeeded during its brief 23-month existence in restoring the people’s sense of national identity and demonstrating their ability to determine their own destiny.

As reflected in the Declaration of Independence — the Act of Independence — adopted on May 28, 1918, this historic date further strengthened the spirit of independence among our people.

Following the speech, questions from webinar participants related to the topic were answered.

It should be noted that nearly 35 employees from the reserves operating under the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the webinar.
